The Semitron ESd grades address electrostatic discharge issues under a wide range of temperature and mechanical load conditions and are available in four types.
Semitron ESd materials are widely used in equipment for manufacturing and handling sensitive electronic components such as integrated circuits, hard disk drives, and circuit boards. They are also an excellent choice for parts in high-speed electronic printing and playback equipment, as well as for material handling applications.
Grades
Semitron ESd 225 [ESd POM; Beige]
Semitron ESd 225 is ideal for handling and transport processes that require an electrostatic dissipative acetal-based material. It is also an excellent choice for equipment used in hard disk drive manufacturing and for handling silicon wafers during processing.
Semitron ESd 410C [ESd PEI; Black]
Semitron ESd 410C provides an ESd solution with excellent mechanical properties up to 210°C. It also offers outstanding dimensional stability—thanks to its low coefficient of thermal expansion and low moisture absorption—making it ideal for handling equipment in the electrical/electronic and semiconductor industries.
Semitron ESd 500HR [ESd PTFE; White]
Reinforced with a proprietary synthetic mica, Semitron ESd 500HR combines low wear properties, excellent dimensional stability, and electrostatic dissipation. When pure PTFE causes discharge problems, Semitron ESd 500HR offers effective bleed-off functionality while retaining typical PTFE properties such as broad chemical resistance and a low coefficient of friction.
Semitron ESd 520HR [ESd PAI; Khaki Gray]
Semitron ESd 520HR is the industry’s first material to combine electrostatic dissipation (ESd), high strength, and heat resistance. This advanced ESd material is ideal for making test sockets, nests, and contactors in test equipment, as well as handling components in the semiconductor industry.
One of Semitron ESd 520HR’s key features is its unique ability to resist dielectric breakdown under high voltages [>100V]. For example, where typical carbon fiber-reinforced materials become irreversibly conductive after only limited voltage exposure, Semitron ESd 520HR maintains its electrical performance across a voltage range from 100V to 1000V, while delivering excellent mechanical performance in demanding applications.
Technical Information
Semitron ESd materials exhibit inherent dissipative properties and are unaffected by atmospheric conditions such as humidity. Additionally, their material properties are not compromised by surface treatments used to induce dissipation.
